CANARY ISLANDS
LOCATION
- The Canary Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean, Nort-West of Africa and South-West of Europe.
- We are directly in front of the coast of Morocco
GRAN CANARIA
There are different climatical areas and different landscapes:

ANIMALS AND PLANTS
The Canary Island Date Palm
It is one of the most grows and popular ornamental trees on the world.
It has got very sweet fruits called dates.
Goats and the Canary Islands.
The Goats were already in Canary Island when Spanish people conquested them.
Goats are the most important livestock in the Canary Island
Camels (dromedary)
The first `Camelus dromedarius´ were brought over to the Canary Islands from África in around 1405.
They were essential in the european colonization.
The canary camel is the only breed of camel that lives in Europe.
Nowadays,they are used as a mean of transport on trips for tourist.
DOLPHINS
The Canary Islands are know as home of dolphins
There are a large number of this animals in Canary Islands.
They are very frendly with human being.
They are very intelligent so they can help very much human beings
GIANT LIZARD
The giant lizart is a protected species since 1975.
It reaches 75 cm. in legth.
It has got a long thin tail.
It eats insects and plants.
The breeding season is in May,after 1 month the female lays 12 eggs in a nest,of whitch the young comes aut after 8 weeks
The giant lizart is lived on the earth from the Jurasic time
MAJORERO GOATS
The majorero goat is a particulary strong breed and has been exported to África and America
It´s milk is essential in the human being diet
The majorero cheese is one of the most famouse in Spain
In the 13th and 14th centuries goats were already present in the Canary Islands
Nowadays,goats are the most important liestok in the Island
PICOPATO
The picopatos mouse is very big and is full of very shasp teeth
You can find them in the midle of the dark embarramend
It can grows 60 cm long
It is shy but dangerais from human being
It eats crustaccions and fish
BARDINO
Majorero dog or Bardino is a Spanish breed originally from Fuerteventura
Some are:dark brown,dark green,dark or light gryand and yellows

It can be from 55 to 64 cm high
THE YELLOW LAGGED GULL
In the Canary Islands there are several dozens of them
It lives in all the Islands except la Gomera

The canary bird comes from Canary Islands
