Animal group Amphibians

• Amphibians are cold-blooded.





• They spend part of their live under the water and part of their live on land.

• They lay jelly-covered eggs in the water.

• Baby amphibians live in water and breathe with gills.

• An amphibian's skin is moist.

• They are vertebrates because they have backbones.

• They have four legs,two of which can be used for jumping.(froag,toad).

• Some amphibians have four legs and one tail.(newts,salamander).

• A toad can puff itself up to look larger than it really is.

• There is a frog that is as small as a dime.

One type of frog is as big as a football.

Animal group Birds

• The birds have got feathers.



• All the birds have got two legs and two wings.

• Birds have a beak or a bill.

• They lay eggs. The young hatch from the eggs.

• They are warm-blooded. 

• Birds breathe faster than mammals and their bodies are warmer.

Birds give us meat and eggs. (chicken, turkey, duck, goose)

• Some birds make good pets. (parrot, canary, pigeon, cockatoo)



Birds of Prey eat mice, rats, voles and other animals that destroy farmers' crops.





• They have got hollow bones filled with air.It help yhem to fly.

• There are bird that migrate.They fly to the south to escape the cold winter

Animal group Fishes

• Fish are cold-blooded.

• They lay many eggs (oviparos).

• Most fishes are covered with scales.

• They have fing not legs.

• Fish live in water and breathe through gills.

1. The fish takes the water into its mouth.
2. The water goes back through the gills.
3. The fish keeps the oxigen by the gills.

EXTRANGE FISHES:

• The flying fish is able to "fly" for a short distance.

The Black Swallower can swallow fish that are much larger than itself.



• An Archer fish squirts at bugs to catch them.

Animal group Insects

•  Insects have six legs.

• The body of an insects is made up of three parts.

• Each insect has got one pair of antenae.These antenae help the insects to find food.

• Insects have got their skeletons on the outside like a shell.

• They can have got two or four wins.
  

• Insects are cold-blooded.















• They don`t have lungs,they only have small openigs on their bodies.

• Insects lay many eggs.

• Most insects go throught a life cycle called metamorphosis.

• There are many HARMFUL insects that eat farm crops.
